Flowerdale Group is a first-generation family office owned by the Hayhoe family. Flowerdale Group is headquartered in Hong Kong with a global investment outlook across public markets, real estate and private investment.
Flowerdale Group was founded by Caleb Hayhoe, whose entrepreneurial drive is embedded in our investment approach. Caleb spent over 10 years building a global sourcing business in Hong Kong together with an exceptional team, and Flowerdale’s focus continues to be building businesses through private investment spanning Asia Pacific, Europe and North America across a diverse range of industries.
The Flowerdale History
The Flowerdale brand and teapot logo date back to the 1890s when the Hayhoe family began roasting, blending & delivering Mountain Blend Coffee and Flowerdale Tea door-to-door in Canada on carts and sleighs. For 80 years, until they sold the business in the ‘70s, the Hayhoes worked together to develop their brands into respected, beloved household names in Canada.
Private Investment
We look to actively partner with entrepreneurs, founders and management teams to provide both strategic and operational value. We typically look for significant minority positions where we can play an active role supporting the business growth path. We look for opportunity in its many forms, from helping large global businesses restructure, to rebuilding a stalled brand in a start-up environment, to providing guidance & support to promising entrepreneurs.
Public Markets
We take a long-term approach to our public market capital, favouring strong fundamentals and high- income generation across a globally diversified portfolio. We work with external managers and actively manage our own portfolio.
Real Estate
Our real estate portfolio consists of primarily residential holdings in Hong Kong, the UK and Canada. We take a long-term view in our real estate investments and our typical approach is to find high-quality assets and hold them indefinitely.
Philanthropy
The Hayhoe family, through the Silvercrest Foundation, channels its philanthropic endeavours in very hands-on projects for disadvantaged children and environmental issues.
